It's one of those things you 'know' you should do---create an estate plan to make sure your assets get to your intended beneficiaries and appoint a guardian for your minor children. However, creating an estate plan and contemplating a world without you living in it is not high on most people's priority list. I know as I, too, have been there. After first creating an estate plan with my husband in 2005, it took a global pandemic to make me realize I was needlessly procrastinating updating our trust, will, durable power of attorney, and advance health care directives. In case you needed this encouragement, please know I can help create a comprehensive estate plan to address your needs by determining if you need a revocable living trust, how to decide the best fiduciary for you to appoint to manage your assets and guardian for your children. Trust me, you will feel a huge sense of relief and elation once you have put in the time to inventory your assets as well as determine who you can ask to take care of your loved ones at your death.
